 Swimming Stroke Development Clinic Sunday April 22nd. Woodland Park, CO  11:30am-1:00pm

Podium Training Systems & US Masters Swimming excited to host a stroke development swimming clinic at the Woodland Park Aquatics Center. 

Topics will include: 

  • Proper freestyle mechanics for maximum efficiency
  • Discussion and examples of open-water mechanics for triathletes
  • Specific drills to fine tune and develop your stroke – drill progression for freestyle
  • Drills for open water swimmers and triathletes
  • Discussion of methodologies for effective training

The cost for this 90 minute session is $10. For the clinic, you should bring a suit, goggles, hand paddles, and fins.

Dave Burgess is a USA Triathlon Level 2 coach, US Masters Swimming Level 3 coach, as well as a USA Swimming & American Swimming Coaches Association Level 3 coach. He is also a regular webinar presenter for USA Triathlon and a clinic presenter and educator for US Masters Swimming.

                            Competition Week Cooking Class                               Tuesday, May 22, 2018 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Podium Training Systems is proud to partner with the Colorado Springs Vegan Cooking Academy to bring you a demonstration class on how to add prepare for your primary "A" race from a nutritional standpoint. 

Podium Training Systems Coach Dave Burgess will cover the type of food - and amount - ideal for plant-based athletes tapering for a key race. He will make race-day food recommendations and provide strategies for post-race recovery meals.

Vegan culinary instructor and cookbook author JL Fields will demonstrate three simple recipes to support Coach Dave’s principles.

$25 class fee includes lecture, food samples, recipes and a competition week meal planning template.

US Masters Swimming Level 1&2 Coaching Certification Clinic  Saturday, August 25, 2018. Burr Ridge IL

U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS level 1 & 2 Masters coach certification course on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 in Burr Ridge IL. Dave Burgess from Podium Training Systems will be presenting. Individuals looking to become involved in US Masters Swimming who are looking to enhance their coaching education with a focus on stroke development and remediation should attend.

Prerequisites
There is some pre-clinic work that needs to be completed prior to attending the level 1 & 2 clinic. That information will be communicated with you after you register.

Certification Process
Upon successful completion of the certification process, including all required memberships, applications and completed tests: Each person will be awarded a USMS level 1 & 2 Certified Masters Coach certificate.

US Masters Swimming Adult Learn-To-Swim Instructor Clinic   Sunday, August 26, 2018. Matteson IL

U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting an Adult Learn-To-Swim instructor certification course on Sunday, August 26th, 2018 in Matteson IL. Dave Burgess from Podium Training Systems will be leading this clinic.

More than a third of adults in the United States can’t swim the length of a pool, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which puts them at risk of being one of the 10 people who drown every day in this country. U.S. Masters Swimming's Adult Learn-to-Swim initiative is on the front lines to change this statistic. With education, outreach, and financial support, USMS is making more adults safer around water. 

USMS's Adult Learn-to-Swim instructor certification program trains and educates swim instructors in the methods and techniques that work best for adult learners.
